So you're an art thief looking to steal The Scream under cover of the start of the 1994 Winter Olympics, and you want to leave a note in it's place criticizing the gallery's lack of adequate security. Do you bring pen and paper with you and write the note on the spot, or do you write out the note ahead of time and take it with you?
It just seems to me like very bad luck to write out a note taunting the police before you've even left home.
